Online Platforms Response Many shoppers and sellers are posting online claiming that product pages now present a modified sizing category versus the original listing due to the recalibration. The company said the new system was more in line with other platforms. It has advised users to examine their items and manually change the size where appropriate, which has left users frustrated. Size Classification Modifications Previously, the measurements included one number and one letter, such as S/8 or M/10. The revised method features an alphabetical indicator and numerical range such as S/UK 8-10. With some products, the measurements have been reclassified - like an L measurement was formerly size 12 but is now a UK 16-18. Member Experiences One content creator, who produces content about larger sizing, said the change "makes both selling and buying harder". "Few clothing companies classify XL as 20-22," which is what Vinted now does. A different member, located in Scotland, said garments she listed with size 14 tags were appearing on the platform as larger sizing 20-22. "If anyone [who is] size 20-22 buys them they're going to be very disappointed," she stated. Necessary Adjustments Another shopper, located in England, stated she felt frustrated due to the update requiring manual adjustment the sizing for "all her products". "Personally, this is quite irritating, because of my ongoing medical condition and selling on Vinted has been paramount following partial earnings loss," she stated. Service Background The app has more than 100 million members, comprising 18 million UK members. It has proved a popular alternative compared to resale services such as eBay and Depop. This represents another occasion that an unexpected update within the service has received backlash: earlier, the service retracted a modification to its shipping options following member complaints.
