It's tough for the Australian squad to achieve unprecedented feats.

The top summits have already been conquered.

This is the unit that has secured seven Cricket World Cups, in addition to an additional six T20 titles, and earlier maintained over three years without defeat in 50-over cricket.

The remaining milestones, those for the record chasers, are the only things left for a team that has achieved everything.

That it took up to Sunday's three-wicket win over India for them to complete their first ODI chase over 300, reclaiming their record for the highest in women's cricket's 50-over format, is, frankly, a compliment to the pitchers that have represented Australia over five decades.

It's difficult for their batsmen to maintain a record if not provided the possibility.

Finally, the consequence of Australia giving up 330 runs was skipper Alyssa Healy being given a chance to create her newest gem.

Originally famous as the 19-year-old niece of famous ex Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she first played in 2010 after Australia failed to win either of the 20 or 50-over World Cups from the prior year and has experienced everything through 15 championship-filled years since.

A T20 championship victory came three months after her first appearance and seven international trophies have followed from 10 attempts across formats.

The gritty keeper was also there in Derby in 2017 when a last-four loss by India momentarily interrupted the run of success.

That loss "pushed us to reevaluate our levels," Healy commented earlier.

At the next 50-over World Cup in New Zealand, Healy made 170 against England in the final and was awarded tournament MVP. She guaranteed her country would not fail again.

Whether this latest epic knock exceeded that prior achievement is debatable.

Certain people claim the case for championship match pressure. Others can counter with the difficulty that comes when confronting a historic chase and a loud pro-India audience of 20,000.

What's clear is this century was much more difficult to see coming.

The New Zealand onslaught in 2022 occurred when she topped the run-scoring charts, but this knock followed six innings in India over the past few weeks in which she had been unable to reach 30.

"If you've observed me in the nets, it has been a disappointing period because I feel like I've had no rhythm whatsoever," commented Healy.

"But once you take the field, your fighting spirit kick in and you completely engage with the contest."

Healy's competitive nature has continuously been her key asset - and an invaluable trait in succeeding iconic ex-skipper Meg Lanning.

She was troubled by India's promising player Kranti Gaud in last month's ODI series, out to the 22-year-old seamer in each encounter, but this time it merely gave Healy's motivation.

One run resulted off the bowler's initial ball and from there the right-hander was underway.

"The possibility to take the field and engage in competition with her and simply enjoy myself in that aspect, sort of got me going," said Healy.

She got to fifty in 35 balls - her swiftest at a World Cup - and her ton in 84 balls as she flogged anything short, scoring 21 fours and three big hits.

When she was removed the team required another 66 at a run-a-ball - a manageable total now requiring a leisurely stroll.

"To chase 330 is unfamiliar ground so I am glad we have the belief to achieve that now," stated Healy further.

"Hopefully we don't have to do it another time but, if we do, we are confident we can succeed."

Those words will be the ultimate thing rival teams at this tournament should hear.

Over the past five days a feeling they will win from any position has become more firm - this victory succeeding win against Pakistan by 107 run margin despite being 76-7 at a certain moment.

Subsequently Australia meet Bangladesh before an encounter with old rivals England in Indore in a week and a half, by which point a semi-final place may probably be guaranteed.
